On the occasion of the Global Awards of the English newspaper Lloyd’s List Award, which gathers all the shipping industry major players, the CMA CGM Group received the Corporate Social Responsibility award, which rewards its social policy through its Corporate Foundation, and also its environmental and management policy.
CMA CGM India receives the prestigious Maritime and Logistics Award for the Africa Trade
CMA CGM India, for the 4th consecutive year, was awarded with one of the most prestigious trophies of shipping and logistics in India, the Maritime and Logistics Award (MALA), in the category Container Shipping Line of the Year Africa trade Lanes.
CMA CGM India awarded three times by CONCOR for its intermodal performances
CMA CGM India has been awarded during a ceremony organized in Hyderabad by Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), a subsidiary of the public operator Indian Railways, 3 awards for exceptional performances in 2013 by its intermodal platforms. These awards were given in 2014 on the basis of volumes traded in 2013.

The Environment Award rewards the CMA CGM Group for its actions taken to reduce the impact of its business, and for the development of new solutions and sustainable technologies.
The CMA CGM Group is placed in the China Shipping Gazette's Top 10 List of most efficient port and shipping companies
During the annual awards presentation organised by China Shipping Gazette—one of the most important Chinese transport and logistics publications—CMA CGM was rewarded for being among the top 10 most solid port and shipping companies in the sector.
CMA CGM selected best Carrier of the Abidjan Autonomous Port 2013
On Friday, March 21, was held in Abidjan the “Ports Forum", organized by the General Management of the Port of Abidjan. The ceremony, chaired by the Minister for Transport, Gaoussou Toure was placed under the patronage of the Minister for Budget, Abdouramane Cisse. After a morning dedicated to business and commerce, the "Ports Forum” continued in the evening with a gala dinner during which numerous awards and trophies were awarded. CMA CGM won the Gold trophy for the best ship owner of 2013.
CMA CGM Pakistan wins first prize in the "Shipping and Freight Forwarders" category from the Pakistan France Business Alliance
CMA CGM Pakistan was chosen to receive first prize in the "Shipping and Freight Forwarders" category during the 9th annual ceremony organised in April by the Pakistan France Business Alliance (PFBA) with Philippe Thiebaud, France's Ambassador to Pakistan, in attendance.
Farooq Tareen, General Manager of CMA CGM Pakistan, dedicated the award to his teams and congratulated them for their hard work, their involvement, and their commitment and expressed his hope that they would keep up their efforts in order to obtain more success and prizes in the years to come.
CMA CGM China honoured for its contribution to Qingdao's economic development
The CMA CGM China teams in Qingdao were awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Financial Unit of 2012" prize in late March by the district government of Shinan, a division of Shandong province that is under the jurisdiction of the city of Qingdao. The trophy was awarded to recognise the Group's outstanding performance in the Qingdao region in 2012.
This is the second time that the Group, as a shipping company and non-Chinese-owned business, has been honoured by a local government for contributing to the economic growth of a Chinese region.
A CMA CGM America staff member receives the "Lowe's Customer Representative of the Year Award"
Jason Bowling, Import Customer Service Premier Desk, was recently honoured by Lowe's, one of the Group's Key Accounts, with the "Customer Representative of the Year" prize for his customer service. Jason Bowling was selected for "his tenacity, his positive attitude, and his responsiveness, our essential selection criteria", according to Lowe's. "We are very proud of Jason's accomplishments as customer service representative for Lowe's. His efforts and his commitment are an integral part of the success of our collaboration with this strategic client. It is a great example of the proactive and responsive service that are the keys to success for our Customer Service", stated Jeanne Wilson, Vice President Customer Care CMA CGM (America) LLC.
MacAndrews chosen as European carrier of the year 2012 by ASDA
MacAndrews, subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, was honoured 13 March by ASDA, British subsidiary of the American retail giant Wal-Mart, winning the "European Carrier of the Year" Prize for the second time.
The prize was awarded in recognition of MacAndrews' overall service provisions through intermodal transports and value-added services for ASDA's wine business: milk rounds, cross docking, shipping, rail connections, and logistics. MacAndrews' services enabled ASDA to reduce operational costs while minimising the environmental impact of road transport.

Jacques Saadé honoured with the prestigious "Lifetime Achievement Award" by Containerisation International
In London on 18 October 2012, the British container transport magazine Containerisation International (CI) presented its "Lifetime Achievement Award" to Jacques Saadé.
This great honour was awarded to him for his commitment and contributions to the development of maritime trade, his exceptional career path that enabled him to lead the CMA CGM Group to the rank of third-largest shipping company worldwide, and the crucial role he played in the growth of the maritime container industry and the growth of CMA CGM's influence in the shipping industry.
Two nominations for the CMA CGM Group at the Containerisation International (CI) Awards
During the awards ceremony organised by the British shipping magazine Containerisation International, the Group was nominated for the "Global Ocean Carrier of the Year" title—a nomination that highlights CMA CGM's expertise, service quality, and customer satisfaction—and for the "Innovation Technology" category for its research into alternative fuel combustion technology and LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) as an energy source.
US Lines, a Group subsidiary serving the Trans-Pacific and Australasian markets, was also nominated in the "Regional Ocean Carrier of the Year" category for its commercial performance and its service quality for all of its trades.
CMA CGM wins "Project Heavy Lift Forwarder of the Year" at the Global Freight Awards
At the Global Freight Awards ceremony CMA CGM won the "Project Heavy Lift Forwarder of the Year" prize. The trophy was given to Michael Parker, President of MacAndrews and CMA CGM Holding UK.
Recognised in the maritime transport sector as a sign of excellence, this prize recognises the shipping company for having developed tailor-made solutions for its customers and for having ensured optimal service in the transporting of break bulk cargo throughout the world. CMA CGM was awarded the prize in particular for its exceptional transport of a piece weighing 450 tonnes between Rotterdam and South-East Asia on the CMA CGM LA PEROUSE for Boskalis, a specialist in off-shore infrastructure projects.

During the 2012 Freight Conference organised by SeaNews—the online Russian magazine that is a leader in the field of transport and logistics—the Group was honoured with the prestigious "Best Performance in the Russian Container Market 2012" prize.
The CMA CGM Group nominated in two categories at the Lloyd's List Asia Awards
Selected by a jury of experts and international organisations, CMA CGM is nominated at the Lloyd's List Asia Awards in the categories of "Environment" and "Ship Operator".
- Environment Award: this prize honours companies whose actions have contributed to reducing pollution in the oceans, particularly through ship design and overall environmental policies.
- Ship Operator Award: this nomination highlights shipping companies that have demonstrated excellence in ship operations in the preceding year, taking safety, efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness into account.
CMA CGM named N° 1 for overall performance in Asia in a survey by Containerisation International
The Group was named best shipping company for its performance in Asian trade by the British maritime magazine Containerisation International as a result of a survey of about fifty customers.
The customers graded every company in the shipping industry on the basis of 12 criteria, particularly:
- customer service quality
- accuracy of documentation and data
- regularity of ship schedules
- freight rate flexibility
- financial performance
CMA CGM receives "Best Partner of the Year 2012" Prize from Samsung Electronics
On 15 March 2012, Samsung Electronics awarded the CMA CGM Group the "Best Partner of the Year 2012" prize during a ceremony held at their head office in Suwon City, Korea.
This prize honours the Group for its remarkable logistical performance and its efforts dedicated to improving the overall management of Samsung's supply chain. The award recognises the comprehensive partnership between CMA CGM and one of its main customers in Asia. During the last few years the volume transported by CMA CGM doubled, reaching nearly 70,000 TEUs in 2011.
CMA CGM receives the "International Carrier of the Year" Prize from ASDA for the second year in a row
On 9 March 2012, ASDA, a subsidiary of the American retail giant Wal-Mart, awarded the CMA CGM Group the "International Carrier of the Year" Prize. ASDA decided to honour CMA CGM for the second year in a row after studying and recognising the support provided by the Group on a daily basis. Having transported more than 6,500 containers in 2011, the CMA CGM Group significantly helped ASDA through innovative solutions and, in particular, enabled the implementation of the only rail service from Southampton to north-east England.

The CMA CGM Group is honoured twice at the Containerisation International Awards
The Group won two trophies during the Containerisation International Awards which took place 12 October in London:
- "Terminal Operating Company of the Year" honours the Mediterranean hub in Malta, majority-owned by the Group, for having increased its capacity by 117% during the past few years while implementing an effective environmental policy.
- "Regional Carrier of the Year" recognises the Group's subsidiary ANL for its commercial performance and quality of maritime service on the Asia-Oceania trades.
CMA CGM nominated in two categories at the IFW Awards
The Group was nominated at the 2011 International Freighting Weekly (IFW) Awards in the "People Development Award" and "Customer Care Award" categories. These trophies were awarded by the English magazine's readership, which is made up of experts in the maritime sector.
CMA CGM honoured at the "Sustainable Shipping Awards"
In London on 7 July 2011, Michael Parker, President of CMA CGM UK, accepted the Clean Air Award on behalf of the Group at the "Sustainable Shipping Awards". Each year a jury made up specialists, British Members of Parliament, shippers, and NGO representatives choose the companies who have distinguished themselves through their actions taken to benefit the environment.
240,000 readers of the China Shipping Gazette Magazine recognise CMA CGM China six times
CMA CGM China won six trophies at the China Freight Industry Awards ceremony held at Shanghai on 24 June 2011. Shipping companies were evaluated by 240,000 of the publication's readers on the basis of innovation; ship regularity, accuracy of documentation, and customer service quality. CMA CGM won the following trophies:
- The Top Ten Award for Best General Service container shipping company
- The second place for Best China-Europe/Mediterranean Service
- The Top Ten Award for China-North America Service
- The Top Ten Award for China-Africa Service
- The Top Ten Award for China-South America Service
- The Top Ten Award for China-Southeast Asia Service
The China Freight Industry Awards are among the most important events in the maritime sector and are organised by the China Shipping Gazette Magazine with the support of the Chinese Communication and Transport Association.
Mattel honours the CMA CGM Group with the prestigious "Matty Award"
Mattel, American giant and worldwide leader in the games and toys sector, presented the Group with the "Matty Award" on 16 June 2011, a trophy in the image of Matty, Mattel's mascot.
Bill Leahy, Vice-President US Logistics & Customer Fulfillment for Mattel gave Aubrey Chang, South China General Manager, this prestigious trophy, which bears the inscription "Aubrey Chang, Special Partnership Award Trusted Friend Makes It Happen Mattel, Inc. 2011" at the CMA CGM Shenzhen offices.
According to Mattel,
This award symbolizes Mattel's appreciation for CMA CGM, one of its privileged and exclusive suppliers in the logistics chain field, which has provided excellent service for many years. This prize is the result of effective collaboration, tireless work and mutual respect between the two partners.
CMA CGM named "Best Partner Carrier of the Year 2011" by SONY
The Group was named "Best Partner Carrier" by Sony for the second year in a row for all its services during a ceremony held in Tokyo on 7 July 2011.
CMA CGM stated:
Our collaboration with Sony began 10 years ago and has developed considerably thanks to the hard work and dedication of our sales teams. We were chosen to carry 25,000 TEU in 2011, versus 12,000 TEU carried in 2010.
In the United States the CMA CGM Group receives the Lowe's “Ocean Carrier of the Year” Prize
The Group was honoured with the "Ocean Carrier of the Year" prize by Lowe's, an American giant in the construction and gardening materials retail sector.
Recognised in the field as a sign of excellence; this prize is awarded on the following criteria: innovation, service quality, and flexibility. It recognises the dedication of the teams around the world who have worked with this customer for years.

ANL Given three awards at the Lloyd's List annual shipping & maritime industry awards
During the 15th annual Lloyd’s List DCN annual shipping & maritime industry awards, ANL received awards for its Australia/North East Asia service and for the Australia/New Zealand, Pacific Islands, and Papua New Guinea service.
The nominees were judged on the basis of two criteria: customer satisfaction and schedule reliability. ANL has been nominated five times and has won twice. A third prize, the "New Generation" Award, which identifies young talent in the maritime sector, was awarded to Fleur Walsh, an ANL employee in the Key Accounts Department.

In Portugal, MacAndrews receives the "Transportes & Negócios" prize
In India the Group is recognised five times by the Container Corporation of India for its performance in intermodal transport. It is furthered honoured by two other awards from the Group's CFS in Dadri and by winning second place for "Container Freight Station Operator of the Year".
